Save these numbers in your phone before your first shift. In any life-threatening situation, call 911 first — then notify your crew leader.

When to Call 911

Call 911 for any life-threatening situation: severe injuries, chemical exposure with breathing difficulty, heat stroke (confusion, loss of consciousness), vehicle accidents with injuries, or any immediate danger to a person. Do not hesitate. Do not call your supervisor first. Get emergency services moving, then make your next call.

Reporting Chain of Command

For non-emergency work issues, go in order: crew leader first, then field supervisor, then branch manager. Payroll and HR questions go directly to the owner. Document the time, date, and nature of every communication — you may need the record later.

Chemical Exposure Emergencies

Move to fresh air immediately. Flush affected skin or eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 and have the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS) ready when you call — it is in the binder on your truck. Notify your crew leader and supervisor right away. If the person has difficulty breathing, seizures, or loses consciousness, call 911.
